About Us
The Langham Creek Choir is an opportunity for high school students to learn performance skills, sightreading, and advanced singing technique. Among the activities of the choir are the Madrigal Feast, fall concert, UIL, Solo and Ensemble competition, the Pop Show, and muscial theater productions. The choir is directed by Cathy Wafford and Chris Fiorini. In addition a group of highly qualified private lesson teachers offer individual instruction.

Directors
Cathy Wafford
Mrs. Wafford is in her twelfth year as head director of LCHS. She is a graduate of Southern Methodist University with a double major in vocal performance and opera and holds a master's degree from East Carolina University, Greenville, North Carolina. Mrs. Wafford pursued a career as a professional singer after her graduation from SMU. She was a winner of the Southwest and Southeastern Metropolitan Opera Society in Carnegie Hall. She was a member of the apprentice programs at the Santa Fe Opera Company and the New York City Opera Company and subsequently performed with both groups. She has performed with numerous opera companies and symphonies throughout the United States. While in New York, Mrs. Wafford was the winner of the Schull Bequest Award and the New York Singing Teacher's Young Artist Award and was presented in a debut recital by that organization. She currently maintains a private vocal studio, in addition to her duties at Langham Creek.

Chris Fiorini
Mr. Fiorini grew up in the small town of Palacios, TX. As a member of the Palacios High School Choir he was selected to the Texas All-State Mixed Choir and was also a member of the TMEA Honor Choir selected in 2002. After high school, Mr. Fiorini went to the University of Houston where he studied voice with Joseph Evans and worked extensively with Dr. Betsy Weber. He graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2007 with a bachelors degree in music and came straight to Langham Creek High School. Mr. Fiorini has also done some work in the Houston/Galveston area in musical theatre. He has worked with such professional companies as HITS, Island ETC, Theatre Under the Stars and the Houston Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Houston. Mr. Fiorini also maintains an active role singing in the Houston area. He sings as a paid staff singer at the Sacred Heart Co-Cathedral in downtown Houston and is a former member of VOX the Rob Seible Singers.
